Here is my entry for the design of the month contest. I remember as a kid how much I
loved the futuristic and exotic rockets in the Estes catalogs especially the story lines
that often accompanied them. My entry continues in that tradition and I am happy to
submit the Interstellar Probe with this brief but tantalizing description:
Launched many eons ago by an advanced alien
civilization, the interstellar probe's autonomous mission is to catalog other
civilizations discovered in the far reaches of space and to return to its origin after
exploring the galaxy and beyond for thousands of years. the onboard sensor and
navigation systems have recorded the details of countless worlds during its voyage,
possibly even our own.
