| TIm brings us an interesting
clustered 2-stage model called the Aeon Tim
provided the following information with his entry:
Jim;
I would like to submit this as my DOM entry for September. Sorry this is last
minute, but I wanted to tweak my design a bit and get a liftoff shot before submitting.
My design is called the AEON.
One definition of Aeon is "an indefinately long period of time", which is about
how long this rocket might stay in the air, indefinately. The Aeon burns a total of
6 motors. It is clustered and staged, using 5 motors in the booster and 1 in the
sustainer. Construction is pretty simple. A parts list, fin patterns, and construction
notes are included in the pdf file. All of my parts, except the parachute, came from
Fliskits, the most unique being the 5 motor cluster mount which has a central 24mm mount
surrounded by 4 13mm mounts. The AEON has an estimated maximum altitude of 1400 ft.
I have attached the pdf file, along with pics and a launch video compiled from a photo
slideshow. The video is only 192 kb.
Thank you,
Tim Breland
