Richard (Dick) Nelson. Shop teacher, educator, model
rocket enthusiast.
He had a goal of bringing quality, creative
education to children in unexpected ways. He is still fulfilling that goal, as a
matter of fact.
However, back in the 70's, 80's and even into
the 90's, he had a special focus for creative education. Namely as founder and host
to the largest annual model rocket convention this country has ever known, The
Pearl River MOD-Roc convention.
Jim Flis had the honor of designing the
commemorative model rocket kits that were given out to attendees of these conventions,
taking over where Howard Kuhn left off. It is with great pride and honor that
FlisKits is able to bring the D-Nelson Tomahawk back into circulation to
bring you a small piece of rocketry history as well as a darn fine kit! |
