p3290229.jpg (58210 bytes)

Gleda and Vern Estes relax at our booth as Bob Alway chats away.
p3290234.jpg (96442 bytes)

p3290239.jpg (41446 bytes)
Another shot of my FarScape proto.  This model attracted a whole lot of attention at NARAM
p3290241.jpg (72589 bytes)
Gleda Estes with Scott Brance and Glen Avaler take a rest in our booth.  We have gone out of our way to make our booth a comfortable place to sit and rest.  It is nice to see that it is seen and used that way.  Glen is a buddy of mine whom I had lost touch with since the days of NEMROC.  It was a joy to finally get to meet him again.   Same with Scott for that matter.  Too long between visits!

p3300260.jpg (59807 bytes)
If this isn't the best reason for rocketry, I don't know what is.  Kids and rockets.   Rockets and kids.  It's just so Christmas! :)
p3300261.jpg (63317 bytes)
Bar none, the most unusual modification I have ever seen to a Rhino kit!  A single fin, shaped like 1/2 of a CD, attached at an angle, one side only....
p3300262.jpg (36524 bytes)
And it turned in a PERFECT flight.  Incredible!
p3300263.jpg (71621 bytes)
Here is a good shot showing the fin.  Understand, this is the ONLY fin.  There is NO fin on the other side!
p3300264.jpg (71036 bytes)
And now it gets interesting...  Scott Branche showed up at our booth with these exquisite models, each one with its own type of imaging payload from live-feed video to digital imaging.  He was testing them and needed a base of operations.  I swear that the yellow live video rocket was ALWAY pointed at me and Kathy.... LOL
p3300265.jpg (68829 bytes)
Another of the camera rockets brought over by Scott.  Possible new product from Quest?  Things that make you go "hhmmmm"
p3300266.jpg (88227 bytes)
See!??!  We move, and I *swear* that yellow rocket moved to follow us...
p3300267.jpg (56708 bytes)
Bill Stine, on the cell phone with Scott (who is back at our booth with the receiver and monitor) switching on the video camera. (see the Quest connection?? :) )
p3300268.jpg (67148 bytes)
Bill verifies that Scott has a good image before having the countdown begun
p3300269.jpg (31549 bytes)
And LIFTOFF! A beautiful flight.  I was out at the range photographing this flight.   For another flight, I stayed back at the booth so that I could see the live video feed.
p3300270.jpg (11189 bytes)
Perfect recovery too.  Simply beautiful models.
p3300271.jpg (37534 bytes)
And down for a perfect touchdown in the soft grass
p3310273.jpg (59846 bytes)
Ok, if this isn't like something right out of Roswell, I don't know what is!  One of the many PMC (Plastic Model Conversion) models flown
p3310274.jpg (64875 bytes)
Another PMC turns in a perfect flight.

p3310285.jpg (105760 bytes)
The Little Joe resting inside her tower of guide tubes.
p3310286.jpg (40788 bytes)
The jet takes to the air.  A beautiful launch, but not so the flight.  Right after clearing the launch rod, she arced over and power augered into the ground.   When she hit, on the far side of the launch area, all you could see were dozens of little white missiles popping into the air, like a pop-corn maker gone mad.  ick.
p3310287.jpg (25354 bytes)
The Little Joe puts in a great flight!
p3310291.jpg (86109 bytes)
Mike with his PMC entry.  This one also power pranged.  ick again!
p3310292.jpg (35400 bytes)
Another great launch shot of a PMC jet.  very cool
p3310294.jpg (65444 bytes)
