First, I was involved in two other events for
the month of November and have a couple of photo's from those as well and will include
them here as there aren't enough pictures to warrant a separate album. The first was
the national Weather Conference at the Clay Center Observatory in Brookline, MA and the
second was GIS Day 2004 hosted by the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. The
first 6 photo's are from those events.
Our November 20th launch at CMASS was the last
of the 2004 season and may well have been the best launch day of the year! Temps
were mild for November (mid-high 40's) and there was virtually NO wind. At one point
we had 76 cars and over 100 people. We logged about 422 flights too!
I didn't fly very much but did manage to get the
proto-type of the Alien8 into the air and I logged 5 more flights on my Sprint'73
bringing the total flights on that model (built in 1973) to 440.
We had several Boy Scouts show up with their
Rhino and Triskelion kits and had a TARC team there as well, learning the ropes of
rocketry. For the first few hours, 2 out of 3 rockets flown were FlisKits kits, and
most of those were Rhino kits. We even had a 7 Rhino drag race and an impressive
Richter Recker drag race too.
All in all, a perfect end to the flying season.
Now to get ready for spring!
