University of New Hampshire Astronomy Festival
I was invited to
join with the folks at the UNH Astronomy Fest in Durham, NH
and quickly accepted. My experience with such events is
that they are a lot of fun and bring you into contact with fun
and exciting people.
When I see kids at
such events because THEY dragged their PARENTS there,
well! That is a very special kid!
It was a small
venue, but very well attended, with lots to do and a full day
of exploring all sorts of technology and learning about
astronomy and related fields. We even had a weather
balloon launch! Kathy and I hosted a full booth as well
as 2 demo launches, a build session (15 people, and their
families, building doo-Dad kits) and a student launch.
Yep, it was a full
day! Special thanks to the organizers as this was a VERY
well run event. This is especially notable seeing as
this is just their 3rd year of running this event. They
are learning fast. I hope they invite me back next year!
