My humble booth...  Smack dab in between TWO national events!  We have JUST returned from LDRS and are leaving for NARAM in 5 days...  WHEW!
dsc04593.jpg (43677 bytes)
Help me out folks... Who, what, when, etc... :)
dsc04594.jpg (33285 bytes)
Looked good both ways though!
dsc04595.jpg (70987 bytes)
Tony hooks up the clips to his MAKO.
dsc04596.jpg (38518 bytes)
I missed the launch but captured the return!
dsc04597.jpg (87401 bytes)
FAIL!
Try as he might, he couldn't catch the MAKO even though it nearly dropped on top of him! LOL
dsc04598.jpg (26507 bytes)
WHOOSH!
dsc04601.jpg (110197 bytes)
Robert, Gloria with Animal Motor Works joined us today
dsc04603.jpg (113458 bytes)
I just LOVED this method of hanging/displaying rockets.
DSC04603crop.jpg (98117 bytes)
This close up shows the details.  Very cool!
dsc04605.jpg (43839 bytes)
We had several helicopter flights.  I missed the launches, but got some good recovery shots.  Didn't spin very fast, but came down nice and slow!
dsc04607.jpg (83730 bytes)
The RSO table got busier and busier as the day went on.
dsc04609.jpg (47164 bytes)
Looks like you got'em all lit!
dsc04614.jpg (69588 bytes)
I noticed this boy preparing his rocket when I realized it was an OverDue!  A very rare promotional kit from FlisKits.  After talking to him and his dad, it was clear they had no idea just what it was or why it was so rare.  I haven't seen one in years!
dsc04616.jpg (27697 bytes)
One of SEVERAL Cheetah's to take to the air today.  All worked flawlessly!
dsc04617.jpg (93551 bytes)
Looking down the right side of the range, folks just kept coming and setting up all morning long.
dsc04618.jpg (30275 bytes)
For good reason too!  This was a fantastic day to fly!
dsc04620.jpg (81735 bytes)
Yeah, that be my Mercury!
dsc04622.jpg (59435 bytes)
Great flight too!
dsc04627.jpg (79611 bytes)
I then noticed this young girl standing in line with a Goddard L-13.  Looks great too!
dsc04631.jpg (37370 bytes)
Though I missed the launch, we got a great flight out of an A.C.M.E. Spitfire!
dsc04633.jpg (51747 bytes)
Curtis' upscale Deuce's Wild put in a great flight!  Unfortunately it suffered separation upon drogue deployment.
dsc04635.jpg (73698 bytes)
Tony preps another bird!
dsc04636.jpg (92126 bytes)
Boris helps the young lady get the L-13 on the pad.
dsc04637.jpg (114896 bytes)
As you can see, the crowds kept growing!
dsc04638.jpg (71170 bytes)
More help with the L-13 before it is ready for flight.
dsc04639.jpg (55710 bytes)
Boris wowed the crowd with his LPR saucer.  Good stuff!
dsc04640.jpg (59893 bytes)
Up goes Tony's bird.  Great flight and a wonderful looking rocket!
dsc04641.jpg (36393 bytes)
Great recovery too!
dsc04642.jpg (57602 bytes)
Looking good!
dsc04643.jpg (57456 bytes)
The Goddard L-13 puts in a fantastic flight!
dsc04644.jpg (61564 bytes)
This Deltie put in a picture perfect flight!  I was keeping my eye on the glider (way up there) when the pod landed at my feet.  When I turned back to the glider I couldn't find it and neither could anyone else!  Lost to the hay bailer, I guess!
dsc04645.jpg (53250 bytes)
Frick-n-Frack away!
dsc04650.jpg (33011 bytes)
Moments before staging!
dsc04651.jpg (36181 bytes)
Moments AFTER staging!
dsc04652.jpg (36533 bytes)
Frick turns over and begins her return as Frack pulls away!
dsc04654.jpg (34268 bytes)
Frack continues her flight, leaving Frick far behind
dsc04655.jpg (100785 bytes)
Rapunzel would be proud of this castle rocket!
dsc04661.jpg (21300 bytes)
Claude had this marvelous plastic bottle rocket on the HPR pad.  I hear the announcement of its pending launch, powered up my camera, swung around and hit the shutter in the hopes of catching the launch...  No time for zooming or framing, but I actually got it! LOL
dsc04662.jpg (26302 bytes)
Sweet looking bird.  Is this one of Tony's?
dsc04663.jpg (35219 bytes)
Got a nice recovery shot too!
dsc04664.jpg (62524 bytes)
Nantucket Sound.  Fastest light house in New England!
dsc04665.jpg (67558 bytes)
Here goes the OverDue on a perfect flight!
dsc04666.jpg (64408 bytes)
Getting the Bull's Eye ready to go

Bill with his trusty Deuce's Wild!
dsc04670.jpg (80880 bytes)
At the same time I see another young man with a naked Deuce's Wild!  They're coming out of the wood work now!
dsc04671.jpg (35801 bytes)
About this time we were being checked out from afar...
dsc04672.jpg (95428 bytes)
Here she is with a beautiful Proxima Centauri!  Very nice :)
dsc04673.jpg (55894 bytes)
F104 to the rescue!
dsc04674.jpg (72085 bytes)
Looking from right to left, we get a sense of the large crowd that showed up for the launch...
dsc04675.jpg (74789 bytes)
Panning left, you can see the AMW booth back by the farm road.
dsc04676.jpg (75069 bytes)
Continuing left we see my booth and Tony's setup.
dsc04677.jpg (70464 bytes)
Back to the range we have the Proxima Centauri putting on a great show!
dsc04679.jpg (42110 bytes)
This thing is just PRETTY, going up or floating down!
dsc04680.jpg (76548 bytes)
I spy a Thunderbird on the field!
DSC04680crop.jpg (50587 bytes)
Hard to see as it is unpainted, but she looks good!
dsc04681.jpg (36849 bytes)
Another shot I almost missed was this very large Little Joe II going up from the away cell
dsc04682.jpg (42618 bytes)
Got a nice shot of the return though.  Great flight!
dsc04684.jpg (41491 bytes)
There goes the Thunderbird on a perfect flight.
dsc04685.jpg (96299 bytes)
We were even graced with the folks from local Pack 615!
dsc04687.jpg (28034 bytes)
Trifecta
drag race!  Look closely!  There's one in the upper right and one in the lower left corner!  Both flights were perfect!
dsc04696.jpg (31067 bytes)
Shortly followed by another Cheetah!
dsc04699.jpg (45958 bytes)
And another Goddard L-13!  It was so nice seeing so many FlisKits kits in the air today!
dsc04700.jpg (61012 bytes)
Deuce's Wild drag race!  If you look closely, you can see one just starting to ignite in the lower left of the picture.
dsc04707.jpg (30298 bytes)
Being left far behind, she has her work cut out for her!
dsc04709.jpg (32903 bytes)
But she does seem to be catching up!
dsc04710.jpg (39976 bytes)
Here is Bill's on the return leg of the journey!
dsc04712.jpg (63081 bytes)
Tony's beautiful Journeyman gives a great show!
dsc04715.jpg (40364 bytes)
Rising majestically into the air, she wound up drifting far across the field and over the creek.  Not sure if Tony was able to get it back...
dsc04721.jpg (74353 bytes)
A 24mm Mega Cobra ready to go!
dsc04722.jpg (55015 bytes)
All 3 motors lit, a beautiful flight!
dsc04723.jpg (64049 bytes)
Yet another Cheetah! shows her stuff!
dsc04724.jpg (62200 bytes)
Red Rhino's in the air
dsc04725.jpg (30413 bytes)
Great flight!
dsc04726.jpg (27816 bytes)
Up goes a candy cane Thing-a-ma-Jig.  Cool!
dsc04728.jpg (49198 bytes)
Claude flies his Nomad in 2-stage mode (wimp LOL)  At the moment of ignition we hear a BANG!
DSC04728crop1.jpg (51771 bytes)
If you look through the exhaust cloud you can just make out the booster still sitting on the pad...
DSC04728crop2.jpg (32962 bytes)
Then a closer look at the tail end you can see the cato'd booster motor on the left which had enough burn through to ignite the sustainer which was able to pull away to safety and recovery nicely.  Cool!
