Before class starts a couple of the kids pour over a FlisKits catalog.
dsc05163.jpg (91974 bytes)
The outside of the camp.  It reminds me of my grandmothers house in Schroon Lake, NY
dsc05164.jpg (90697 bytes)
The left side of our flying field.  This is a VERY small field...
dsc05165.jpg (93671 bytes)
The right side of the field.  Even with A motors I suspect we're going to loose a few on Friday...
dsc05169.jpg (89540 bytes)
Onward and upward, I always say!  We begin the construction of the dooDad kit!
dsc05170.jpg (80359 bytes)
Boys and girls alike, we're all learning something new!

We first practice assembly without glue
dsc05174.jpg (80151 bytes)
Now that wasn't so hard, was it?

dsc05193.jpg (79631 bytes)
One of my kids is also a frequent visitor to the restaurant that Kathy works at (Jo Anne's Kitchen in Nashua)
dsc05194.jpg (119709 bytes)
During a break I got the chance to hit some of the trails found on this site.
dsc05195.jpg (129473 bytes)
You can find all sorts of evidence and setups for teaching the kids how to survive in the wild.  Good stuff!
dsc05196.jpg (115966 bytes)
Make shift lean-to being assembled here.

There she goes!
dsc05257.jpg (86388 bytes)
With the 1st group finishing up and the 2nd group getting ready, I launched a dooDad on a C6-5 motor to give them an idea of what a high flight looks like.  That's Zack pushing the button!
dsc05258.jpg (90438 bytes)
Let's see... Would this be a "group"?  A gang? Clouder? Flock?  Heck, it's just a LOT OF FUN!
dsc05259.jpg (78995 bytes)
Preparing the recovery device (Streamer)
dsc05260.jpg (99630 bytes)

Houston, we have liftoff!
dsc05292.jpg (88963 bytes)
Our last rocketeer of the day!
dsc05293.jpg (86029 bytes)
And another perfect launch!
All in all, we lost 3 rockets to the RET's (Rocket Eating Trees) which was far better than I though considering the small size of the field.  A great time was had by all and I look forward to doing this again next year!
