Trebuchet (Merrimack)

Trebuchet (catapults) is a fun class where we get to build real working weight driven catapults and learn about counter weights, momentum, fulcrums, potential and kinetic energy no to mention problem solving and data collection/reduction.

The kids learn how to build the trebuchet then they learn how to improve it and operate it, learning how to change the range and accuracy of their weapon.  We conclude the class by outlining a water front and littering the "ocean" with enemy ships that they have to hit with their weapon.  Points are awarded and the best team is declared champion!

On the left is a photo album of the many pictures from this session.

If you see a photo of your child or their rocket that you would like, send me an email with the filename of the photo and I can send you a high resolution version of the picture, suitable for framing.

Enjoy this photo album!  Click on a thumbnail on the left to get a full size image in this panel.
