CMASS - May 30th, Tewksbury
The weather seemed
iffy all week long, but the closer we got to Saturday, the
better the outlook was. I showed up with my coat and no
popup tent as I was expecting cool and overcast. What I
found, at 9am was sunny, warm and dead calm.
Yep, it was going
to be a good day of CMASS
flying, though I was going to roast in the sun!
Lots of great
flights, dozens of kids, Scouts and more. At one point I
counted over 70 people enjoying the day. Not as many
flights as I would have expected (maybe 200), but still a good
My big goal was a
test flight of our upcoming Saturn 1B model (1:282 scale)
flying with scale fins. I had to work on the nose weight
but finally dialed it in and got great flights on 1/2A and A
motors, so that is complete. I also flew my
Decaffeinator, NERRF commemorative kit (coming in August),
Nantucket Sound and a few others.
I saw many other
FlisKits kits flying, including 4 different Frick-n-Frack
models! It was great! You should have been there
