Pumpkin Carving Program (Merrimack)

Pumpkin carving is an old art.  I have perfected a carving method that is quite different and quite dramatic.  Instead of cutting holes in the pumpkin and lighting them with a candle, we carve away thin layers of the pumpkin skin, in creative and detailed patterns, then use a light bulk to light up our creations.  The effect can be quite dramatic as you can see if you follow this link to my personal pumpkin carving page.

For this session, the kids will begin with a day of instruction and some limited practice on a sample pumpkin.  They will also be shown a photo album of my pumpkins so that they can see how detailed you can get if you take your time and get some experience behind you.   We will follow this up with each student getting their own practice pumpkin to experiment with and get used to the tools and techniques.  After that they will begin working on their final pumpkin.  In all likelihood, each student will get to carve 2 pumpkins (though they will only received 1 lighting set up).

On the left is a photo album of the many pictures from this session.  I will do my best to photo photo's from each week of the session.  The photo's will be loaded in chronological order (meaning the newest pictures will be on the bottom).  Click this link to get to the most recent pictures.

If you see a photo of your child or their rocket that you would like, send me an email with the filename of the photo and I can send you a high resolution version of the picture, suitable for framing.

Enjoy this photo album!  Click on a thumbnail on the left to get a full size image in this panel.
