Naked Deuce's Wild! kits as far as the eye can see!
The Boys
& Girls Club of Greater Nashua offered another wonderful
session in Merrimack with a focus on many of the kids that have attended several classes
with me in the past. The problem was that we had one new-comer (e.g.: beginner),
about 4 kids that had only done the beginner class and 5 kids that have done at least 1
beginner and also 1 or two intermediate classes. So I needed to challenge them all
while not going over their heads.
We also had a timing problem. These courses are
normally 7 weeks in length. This time, due to the calendar and holidays, we were
reduced to just 5 weeks (sessions) in all. So here is how I structured this class.
We built for 4 weeks straight and then had one launch instead of two. The
sole beginner in the class built two rockets, the Thing-a-ma-Jig and the Rhino, spending
two weeks on each. The other kids built the Deuce's Wild! kit, spending all 4 weeks
on the one, more complex model. Those with lots of previous building experience
could finish up early and then help out the other kids in the class. It was a great
arrangement and worked out just fine.
Here then is the photo album from this session. NOTE:
The launch photo's are very poor as it was dusk when we launched at 3:45 p.m.
Parents, the school and the Boys & Girls Clubs
organization can get high resolution versions of any of these images by sending me an email request.
