The 2003 holiday season proved to be a very hectic time.
Strong growth for the company, several newly announced products and all of the
hustle and bustle that comes with running a fast growth company while preparing for the
holidays, friends and family.
This particular Christmas presented me with a most unique
gift. A story. But more than that, a story written personally for me by my son
Joseph. He wanted to present me with something unique and truly personal. He
also wanted to be able to explore the subject of creative writing without the pressures of
college. Being an English major, everything he has written in the past 3 years has
been against a deadline, for a grade in an important class. Yet he never could find
the time nor the reason to write just for the fun of writing. That is, until this
project idea came to him. He has been working on this for quite some time now and
gave it to me as a special Christmas gift to share with family and friends and, of course,
our most valued customers.
As I understand it, this is but the beginning of (what we
hope will be) a long running epic spanning great distances and stunning spectacles.
Joseph's plan is to provide an installment every month or so, adding to this story, and
the experience. It promises to be a wonderful trip into the unknown, yet
familiar. One of the special features of this marvelous story is that it includes
many of the friends that I have had the pleasure of meeting over the year and a half that
FlisKits has been in existence. Joe took it upon himself to seek out these people
and make them aware of what he was doing and to seek permission to use their names and
caricatures in this story.
I wish to thank Joseph for one of the most unique gifts that
I have ever had the pleasure of receiving and look forward to reading each and every
installment of this great story.
With that, I proudly present you with "Flistory in the
making":
